The Read-Along
It’s time to put on your headphones or crack open the pages of Amor Towles’ beautiful novel, A Gentleman in Moscow. The read-along will take place January 1 - February 28, 2022, primarily in Discord. We’ll kick things off on New Year’s Day with our Cast-on Party, but be sure to watch Discord for the official January meetup date voting.
Remember, if you need a copy of the book, check your local library! Or you can purchase A Gentleman in Moscow through our Bookshop.org link to purchase a copy from an independent bookstore and send 10% back to the club so we can keep our awesome prizes rolling.

The Knit-Along
Grab your yarn and needles and get ready to cast on the Hotel Metropol Shawl! Simply download the pattern from our Circle pattern shop.
Yarn Choices
This textured and lace color-blocked shawl pattern was inspired by Russian lace motifs—I incorporated a traditional diamond and arch—and the precision of military uniforms—as indicated by the welts between the color changes. I used a squishy non-superwash base from Six & Seven Fiber for the sample, but the yardage is perfect for combining any two sock sets from your yarn collection as long as the mini is at least 10 grams.
KAL Details
The Knit-along will last from Today (December 31) - February 28. On February 28, our next pattern will be revealed and we’ll start a new knit-along.
How to enter:
Like we did for The Grange Socks, we will have two KALs, one on Instagram and one on Discord. You may enter both.
Discord: Participation! Just chat and post progress pictures in the thread that I will open for Hotel Metropol WIPS Just like I did for our previous patterns, I’ll also open an FO thread for finished sock photos and entry for the grand prize.
Instagram: Post a progress picture using #HotelMetropolShawl and you’ll be entered into that KAL.
