This shawl is an asymmetrical triangle with a slight curve to one edge. Once you get started, the waffle stitch and cable pattern is extremely intuitive and memorizable! The i-cord edge is worked as you go, so there’s no additional finishing work to do.
Gauge
24 stitches x 28 rows per 4” in blocked stockinette.
Gauge is not important for shawl fit; however, it may impact the yardage (amount of yarn you use) or final shawl measurements.
Yarn
This pattern was designed for a rustic fingering weight yarn, preferably multi-ply. The sample was knit in Birch Hollow Fibers Sojourner Sock yarn, a gorgeous, lofty base with a textured hand. Colorway shown: Oatmeal.
